Abstract
We investigated morphological features of anterior capsule of
the crystal lens of patients with pseudoexfoliative syndrome
after phacoemulsification. The results indicate that the anterior
lens capsule in patients with pseudoexfoliation syndrome has
a more dense structure, the capsule thickness is 21.3 ± 0.7 μm,
which is an average of 55% more than in control patients, and
also has more layers epithelial cells than patients without this
syndrome. The use of the anterior capsule of the lens when
performing antiglaucoma surgery - a modified tunnel trabeculopuncture
improves the hypotensive effect of the operation
due to the specified features of the morphology of the anterior
capsule of the lens.
