Peer review process
Peer review process
General regulations
Fiziol Zh follows a single-blinded peer review process. A manuscript is reviewed anonymously by leading specialist in the corresponding field. Authors may suggest candidatures of independent reviewers for their work (the Editorial Board regards such wishes with understanding, though reserves the right to assign reviewers capable for the most qualified analysis of the work).
Our reviewers are aware that submitted manuscripts are the authors’ private property and are not subject to unauthorized disclosure.
A reviewer’s decision is not final. Authors have a right to appeal against a reviewer’s decision. In this case the paper will be sent to the independent referee or to adjudicating member of the Editorial Board for assessment. A final decision on the appeal remains with the Editorial Board.
Editors are not involved in decisions about papers which they have written themselves or have been written by family members or colleagues or which relate to products or services in which the editor has an interest. Any such submission is subject to all of the journal's usual procedures, with peer review handled independently of the relevant editor and their research groups.
Reviewing procedure
1. A scientific Editor selects and assigns peer a reviewer.
2. The manuscript is sent to the reviewer. The reviewer is given two weeks to submit their comments.
3. In case when a positive reviewer report is received, the manuscript proceeds to publication. If major revision is required, the authors are given 3 weeks to revise the paper.
4. The revised version of the manuscript then enters the second round of peer review.
5. A final decision on publication is made by the Editorial Board.
6. Manuscript approved by the Editorial Board proceeds to the Editorial Office to prepare for publication.
