Abstract
Here we present the results of in vitro studies of the direct
effect of various dental sealants on cultured hippocampus
slices. According to the results of the study, the materials can
be divided in two groups - with the minimum toxic effect (resin
nails, AH-Plus and acroseal), and with pronounced neurotoxic
effects (RealSeal and foredent). By the degree of toxicity, the test materials can be distributed as follows: resin pins<AHPlus<acroseal<RealSeal<foredent.
The results of the work can
be used as recommendations for dentists to choose the dental
sealants according to their neurotoxic properties to prevent
unwanted complications.
