Abstract
Mykhailo Mykhailovych Seredenko (17.10.1933 – 27.04.2003) was a renowned Ukrainian pathophysiologist, Doctor of Medical Sciences, professor, and head of the department studying hypoxic conditions from 1981 to 2003. Mykhailo Mykhailovych was born in Kharkiv into a family of scientists. After graduating with honors from the O.O. Bogomolets Kyiv Medical Institute, he worked as a physician at the Kyiv Regional Hospital. His desire to engage in scientific work led him, in 1959, to enter the postgraduate program at the O.O. Bogomolets Institute of Physiology, joining the department led by the founder of the Ukrainian hypoxic school, academician M.M. Syrotinin.
