Abstract
Investigated endothelial function and arterial rigidity of vessels
in patients with essential hypertension (EH) with obesity
and gout, the main group, and without obesity and gout, is
a group of comparison. It was established that in patients of
both groups decreased endothelium dependent vasodilation
(EDV) and endothelial-independent vasodilation (EIV),
respectively. Thus, EDV was lower by 58.02 and 39.09% in
patients with primary and comparative groups and EIV by
36.17 and 30.59%, respectively. Also, the rate of pulse wave
propagation was higher compared to healthy people. In patients with obesity and gout, this figure was 2.55 m/s more than the
same in patients without concomitant pathology. The value of
the Cardio-ankle vascular index with and without comorbidity
was 59.72 and 35.89% higher than that of healthy subjects.
A significant increase in the thickness of the intima-media
complex was found in patients of both groups. Thus, obesity
and gout worsen the course of EH by affecting the stiffness of
the arterial wall and contributing to endothelial dysfunction.
